RAHMLEE - RISE OF THE PHENIX

1981 Headfirst records usa .. jazz/funk .. produced by Rahmlee and Dean Grant .. ex earth wind and fire player Rahmlee plays trumpet, flugel horn and lead vocals ... players on this LP include Ndugu on drums Nathan East on synth bass, Dean Gant on keyboards amongst others .. stand out track for me at the time was think and it still sounds great .. Very good choice. Even back in the day you couldn't find it that easy. At least where i live. This is one of those records i kept on playing throughout the years and it never seemed to age for some reason. Very good record. Thanks.

This one brings back some funky memories... The EWF horn section was one of the tightest. This album is no EWF side-project though, and I suspect it was the only one ever released by Rahmlee. Big thanx!

OMG, I can remember how I never got around to getting this record while it was still available in the shops. Thanks to you I still get to listening to it, more than 25 years later! Thank you so much!

D'oh stupid me - ignore the last comment from me, I was still catching up on your last few posts ....

Really like this one Paros, i like some jazz in my funk as long as it doesn't go noodly fusion :)
But my favourite is the opener "Heartbreaker", it's all happy n cheesy, just like my mood today lol
