NOBODY LIKES A LEECH

Paros here..i want to say that the leeches are killing the music blogs .. as you know a lot of very good blogs have gone private because of them .. and if you ever read my blog you know that i don't want to go private as i want the music to be heard again by everyone .. the other option was to stop this blog and delete all the files .. witch i am prepared to do .. maybe you don't know but we can see how many times each file has been downloaded .. and yes we know about the people who revisit with another ip address and download again and again with out even a word in the comments .. its only because of my friends that i will continue with the blog so you have them to thank .. i would also like to thank all the faithful who come back and leave a comment and to tell them if this doesn't work then its all over .. thanks for the kind words and funny remarks .. also there will be no anonymous comments allowed .. so i will see how it goes from now and if you return one day and i am gone, you can thank the leeches and the ungrateful .. don't be like these people there is enough shit in the world with out adding to it .. in the next post i will put the links that are missing from the last 7 LPs .. also the shed blocker works fine as you have seen so i will still be using it .. one last thing if you don't like my style then don't come here nobody forces you to ..and remember a little love and awareness goes a long long way ..

Paros, I am pleased to hear that you are gonna continue. Unfortunately and I hope I am wrong I cannot see things changing. We live in a world where common courtesy seems to have disappeared. I grew up in a era where if some one gives or share something with you, you say thanks to show your appreciation and the thought behind it. In the internet world that seems to be forgotten.

People do not give any consideration to the hard work that you put in to rip these albums and post them so we can enjoy them. Albums that we would probably never get the opportunity to experience otherwise.

It is a sad indictment of society but people like "mordecai" who left a comment in your c-box stating that "the records you post are cool, but this whole obligatory thing is really pathetic" is very reflective of a lot of internet users. They get a great deal of enjoyment from the works of others but they do not appear to understand the concept of saying "thank you" for what they are getting.

I for one will be sorry the day when blogs like yours decide to call it a day because you have opened my eyes to a world of music that I did not know existed.

Anyway thanks for all the wonderful music you have allowed me to experience and I hope that things gets better but if it don't and you should one day disappear let me say here and now thanks for all the memories.

Paros, it's really difficult to understand. A word of acknowledgement is very little to ask in exchange for the sharing of such precious gems. Maybe people ought to give a little thought to just how much time it takes to actually prepare these posts. And then consider how hard it would be to otherwise locate these recordings -- many of which I have never seen before in more than three decades of scouring the bins.

However things shake out, know that, a few thoughtless individuals aside, you are deeply appreciated for your effort and your generosity.

Comments one has to threaten out of others are not worth the time taken to read, let alone write.

There are many better ways to waste your time.

The great thing about music blogs is the communities they create. Particularly discussions about music, and linking between artists you already know and ones you haven't yet discovered. And comments are valuable. I post to a blog, and love to read what others have written. However, there are always ten DLs for every comment. Sometimes that's because there's not much to say on that occasion; more often because those individuals never participate. I'd urge you not to go private, or use fixed rules. The community will grow as people recognise each other and the comments. If you post your links in the comments section it will take-off. The leechers will still leech, but they won't destroy the community; and they'll only get music.

Hey paros. like the guys have said, its just a sad reflection of society today...that coupled with anonymity of the internet is a bad mix.

if a guy stood on the street giving out free records id imagine everyone would say thankyou to him!

I'm not here to download anything this time around, but I just wanted to let you know that I do indeed appreciate you and all of the bloggers that I visit. I certainly can't speak for those who abuse the prvileges of the blogisphere, but I do feel that it's only fair to show a little appreciation... From one blogger to another, thank you.

Been thinking about this topic lately so will save some comments for a later post. For now just know that some heads are grateful for the hard work on your part. It can be truly inspirational. Thanks, Paros.

I gotta give you props for working hard to keep those leechers off of your blog page, bro. If they can't comment, then they can't download.

By the way, where can I get one of those IP blockers for my blogspot, so that when I put my albums up on my blog page, those leechers will be watched? Let me know. ;)
