MERRY CLAYTON - EMOTION

1980 mca records usa .. jazz vocal/soul .. tracks penned by Webster Lewis, Joe Sample and Norman Harris to name a few .. produced by Steve Tyrell .. the LP takes us everywhere from Ballard's to funk and even some disco for the dancers .. 2 killer tracks for me are emotion and when the world turns blue .. see how you like it in the comments @320

Hi! Thanks for this great album. I LOVE Merry Clayton! What I'd really love to hear again is her self-titled 1972 LP on Ode, where she did "Love or Let Me Be Lonely."

Thanks for the great blog,
Dennis

A NOLA native, Merry C of Gimme Shelter fame, sister of Litle Feat's Sam C and a once Raelette herself, has been around in busines way back from sixties till now, having a bunch of seventies lp's in Ode label that we keep looking for.
Nice post paros, keep it up bro.

I have been looking for this LP for a while, thanks for posting. What a magnificant voice. I especially enjoyed the disco and funk numbers, and was amused to hear Merry's "First Choice" cover of Armed and Extreemly Dangerous !
Love your blog.
